Love letters are supposed to be read, but sometimes, like in this case, they might never be.😢

This is a scratch track demo of “Love Letters,” a song about writing poems and lyrics like messages folded up in a notebook, though, love letters can be anything we do to express our love. Sometimes we send them out into the quiet with no guarantee they’ll ever reach the person they’re meant for. Maybe they do, maybe they hear them, but we don’t know. Oh, or, maybe they just end up in that in between place, where we find devotion with a bruise, joy with a shadow, and that stubborn hope that keeps us “doing”, creating, even when we don’t get anything back.🫤

Verse 1 sets the frame, what are we on about? Then verse 2 becomes the love letter inside the song. Then the bridge admits the truth, that maybe these letters were never asked for, but they still keep the writer steady, and they still speak love.🙂

This is not the final version, it’s just a test run to see how the story sings. I have 2 more verses to write, and bunches of tweaks. Still, if you have ever loved someone, though kept at a distance, and yet, kept writing those love letters anyway, well, this one is for you. Peace.🙏🏻

🎵 Style / Vibe:
A late-night bayou kind of glow with a slow, swampy pulse underneath it. Warm grit on the edges, bittersweet devotion in the center, and a voice that carries the ache without losing the light. The verses stay close and intimate, then the chorus opens up wide and lets it all rise.
