Does Rhaena Claim Sheepstealer In House Of The Dragon?

Will Rhaena Claim Sheepstealer? In season 2 of House of the Dragon, Rayna Targaryen finds out there’s a wild dragon living in the Vale of Arryn. This is a big change from what’s in George R R Martin’s Fire and Blood book. As you’d expect from the name, the Dance of the Dragons sees a lot of dragons and their riders dying, which causes big problems for both sides since dragons are the most powerful weapon in the war. But, as Rayneera and Jasayres talked about in season 2, there are still several wild and unclaimed dragons in Westross that could be paired with a rider.

Spoilers ahead, so take care.

Team Black already has a few dragons, including Seasmoke, Vermithor, and Silverwing, added to their ranks in season 2. However, there might be more out there. Rayna Targaryen finds out about a wild dragon in the Vale, with Jeyne Arryn saying it’s “large and formidable” and has been burning sheep for food in the area. Rayna encounters this dragon herself at the end of House of the Dragon season 2, hinting that it will play a bigger role in the future. Although the show hasn’t revealed the dragon’s name yet, Fire and Blood gives a clue about its true identity.

In George R R Martin’s Fire and Blood book, there are three wild dragons known to be roaming Dragonstone: Grey Ghost, the Cannibal, and Sheepstealer. While Grey Ghost and the Cannibal might still have a part to play at Dragonstone, even though they haven’t shown up yet and might be left out altogether, it looks like House of the Dragon has shifted Sheepstealer to the Vale.
