Khao Phing Kan or Ko Khao Phing Kan, commonly known in English as James Bond Island, is an island in Thailand, in Phang Nga Bay northeast of Phuket. About 40 metres from the shores of Khao Phing Kan lies a 20-metre tall islet called Ko Ta Pu or Ko Tapu

Beaches Patong Beach: Very lively, lots of water sports, nightlife. Tourism Authority of Thailand Kata Beach: Quieter than Patong, very scenic.

Be careful with scooter rentals — wear helmet, check condition. For food, try local Thai street food — cheaper and delicious. Carry sunscreen, a hat, and water — tropical sun can be intense. Respect temples: wear modest clothes when visiting.
