A wave of suspicious fires has shaken the Interoceanic Fire Insurance Company, forcing them to call back Tom Fletcher, a former investigator dismissed under mysterious circumstances. Known for his sharp mind and relentless drive, Fletcher returns on his own terms, demanding perks and a hefty bonus, while assembling a trusted team that includes his new secretary, Miss Appleby.
