G reviews the SYFY show now on Netflix “Ghost Wars”

In Port Moore, Alaska a lab makes a grave error that causes an earthquake which releases the souls of the dead upon the town and the townspeople are being attacked by them, only a young man named Roman can stop them with the help of the people…kind of.
The big question is how the hell Vincent D’Onofrio and Kim Coates agreed to do this show because it is ridiculous in every way. D’Onofrio plays the town’s priest and Coates plays the mayor’s renegade brother who comes back to town for some reason…oh and Meat Loaf is in this.
This show is bad in the most ridiculous way, think the Happening and the Wicker Man all in one. The characters are interesting, the writing is not good and the delivery is also the same, the CGI is not very good either. Like the Happening and Wicker Man you spend most of the time asking yourself what the hell is going on? It’s absurd and nothing makes total sense. The tone is off too, on the one hand it seems to be self-important and then decides to be just weird and quirky. It’s like a B-movie that thinks it’s an A. No one really fits here either from the story not fitting into itself to the way the characters operate and just show up when they need to. In the beginning episodes the went with a style of showing two events at different times and then connecting them in around the 4th episode but it did not work at all. It is also waaaaay too long.
The only thing I can say is that some shots looks good and that you will laugh at how absurd it and it’s characters are, much the same as the aforementioned Happening an Wicker Man .
I don’t think I recommend anyone to watch this unless they love watching bad and cheesy content.
