Building on the foundations laid in the Interfaith Nonviolent Civil Resistance 101 training, this 201-level session will shift from frameworks to real organizing, real tactics, and real discernment from faith leaders on the ground. Join Interfaith Alliance, the Center on Faith and Justice, Sojourners, Faith in Action, Political Research Associates, and the Horizons Project for an Interfaith Nonviolent Civil Resistance 201 training, focused on how faith leaders are taking action to resist authoritarianism and defend democracy in their communities.

Drawing on the principles introduced in the 101 training, including the authoritarian playbook, pillars theory, faith-rooted “superpowers,” and strategic noncooperation, this session will showcase how clergy and lay leaders across the country are putting these frameworks into action to defend democracy, protect targeted communities, and build resilient interfaith networks of disciplined nonviolent resistance.

This virtual session marks the second in a national effort to equip local interfaith cohorts for ongoing collaboration, learning, and action. Following this virtual session, participating cohorts will have the opportunity to partner with trainers for in-person Training of Trainers workshops in their communities.
