[Ep. 1072] Join me for a full ride along the route Utrecht has chosen for its new “Cycle Route around the North” — a planned east-west bypass for the city’s busiest bikeway.

This 20-minute video shows the present situation before construction begins. I cycle the future route in both directions, offering a look at the streets as they are today: from residential roads and neighbourhood connectors to a few tricky turns and inconsistent surfaces.

The city’s draft design has now been published and construction is expected to start in 2026. This is the “before” — I’ll be following how this high-quality continuous-cycle route develops over time.
