King Aegon's sister wife did give the king one trueborn son in Prince Daeron, but aegon never liked the man, and claimed he was in fact the son of his brother Aemon the dragonknight. For all the potential aegon showed as a boy, he would turn into lustful and greedy king who though his willful misrule toyed with his lords and smallfolk. Queen Rhaenyra Targaryen was trapped on Dragonstone by her brother King Aegon ii with no way to escape her fate. What was to come was the final showdown between the two main players of the dance of the dragons and bring the war into its final phase.
