The Women’s EHF EURO 2024 will be an unforgettable experience for Petra Simon, as the 20-year-old player and the EHF Excellence Awards Young Player of the Season 2024 will make her debut in the competition co-hosted by Austria, Hungary and Switzerland. Moving to the national team was the next step for Petra, after she represented her country in the youth and junior competitions, winning two gold medals at the European Championship. With the senior team, the talented centre back is getting ready for her third appearance in a major international tournament, following the participation at the 2023 IHF Women’s World Championship and the Paris 2024 Olympics. The Hungarian player is performing at the highest level and has gained significant experience after reaching the quarter-finals at the Olympics, where she scored 16 goals, and playing for FTC-Rail Cargo Hungaria in the past two seasons. The latest episode of the “Handball Diaries” focuses on the Respect Your Talent member Petra Simon, telling the story of how the young star has made a name for herself as one of the most promising players of this generation.
