The Supreme Court will be hearing the Centre’s application seeking an injunction against any kind of farmers’ protest or their proposed tractor rally which seek to disrupt the Republic Day celebrations on January 26. Chief Justice of India Sharad Arvind Bobde will be heading the three-judge bench that will hear the application today along with the Centre’s pleas raising the issue of farmers protesting at Delhi borders. The Centre has filed the application through Delhi Police. The SC agreed to hear the application and the Bench issued a notice based on it stating that it should be served upon the farmers' unions that are protesting against the new farm laws.
