I cannot believe the day is here. I’ve thought about this day since his 20 week ultrasound when I found out he had a “deformity.” I’ll never forget the tech saying “of all the deformities, this is the one you want.” I thought it was an odd thing to say. But just look at him run. Dr. Marcela Woiczik at @shrinersslc has changed his whole life. The bummer is that his journey isn’t over. Instead of yearly checkups, we have to go in 3 months to see if the supinating has worsened. If so, little man has to be casted again. But at least he will be able to run around in it and still be a kid. And if he supinates after casting, he will need a tendon transfer 😞 She said 20% of clubfoot cuties have this and sometimes it’s just the way their feet end up. We were diligent with the BNB every night but had some setbacks with blisters, pressure sores and bike accidents😓 But we made it. We prevailed! Last night was the first night he didn’t wake up in the middle of the night asking me to take off his boots. A miracle! This kid is gonna be a killer athlete someday. Even with his lucky fin.
