The most recent episode of The Bad Batch saw Clone Force 99 on a treasure hunt, outwitting various puzzles and booby traps inside a mountain, only to discover the treasure they sought activated a giant, walking, mechanized weapon. But why were there traps installed inside the mech? I’ve seen that question pop up a few times, and my understanding is that the traps were not built as part of the mech itself. They were built to keep people out of it. The secret entrance to the mountain, the puzzle right inside, and the rotating pit trap were all created by whoever originally hid the weapon to stop people from *re*activating it. The Bad Batch weren’t inside the mech until they reached the final door, which Phee describes as “just a door.” There was no trap there, because it was simply the entryway into the machine.
