The video was taken during the EMPLOYS conference that took place in Warsaw, Poland which was organised by the Institute for Sport Governance Foundation.

Aleksandra Shelton is a fencer who participated in four Olympic Games (Athens, Beijing, London, Rio) representing Poland is currently a part of team USA. She is an activist, fighting for an elevated status of Olympic Athletes in Poland.

The EMPLOYS project is coordinated by the German Sport University in Cologne and funded by the Erasmus+ grant. This ‘Eastern European’ event is coordinated by the Institute for Sport Governance which is a project partner in the project, coordinating data gathering in the Eastern Europe. The initiative explores employment relations of athletes in Olympic sports and the final aim is to provide policy recommendations to sport governing bodies, national legislators, and the European Union to improve good governance in athletes’ employment relations in Europe. Full name of the event is ‘Evaluating Good Governance in the Employment Relations of Athletes in Olympic Sports in Europe’.
