This video is a timelapse of my first homemade tiny camper (aka squaredrop or teardrop trailer) called Glacier Explorer - built completely from scratch.

(Dear viewers - If you are interested in a full detailed walkthrough of this trailer build, please see one of my other videos in my channel)

Hi, I'm Elvis, and during 2020 my wife and me decided it was time to graduate from tent camping to something a little more sophisticated and convenient. In truth most of the original inspiration for this project came from my outdoor expert friend Clive who introduced me to the idea of teardrop trailers. After seeing my first teardrop trailer I was in love with the idea of such a compact convenience. A lightweight trailer, easy to tow, which caters for most of your camping needs, yet possible to build on your own. So at the beginning of 2021 I started building our first teardrop trailer (aka tiny camper). The initial release of this trailer was completed in 6 months, working after-hours and weekends, with help from my wife and son (Lidia and Tommy).

This trailer was designed and built based on a balance between various design principles such as: quality, strength, convenience, aesthetics, cost effectiveness and ease of implementation. I also wanted the trailer to have a level of off-road capability, hence why it's more elevated and doesn't adhere to a typical teardrop shape. The project was organised in three parts, 1) building the base frame, 2) building the cabin and finally 3) adding various accessories. This is part 2, and you can also find part 1 video in my channel.

I will be adding more videos in the near future (including part 3 of this series) as well as detailed information on how I've built this trailer including learnings, materials used, and other references, so be sure to subscribe to my channel for future videos! (Currently I'm also planing to make another trailer using different building methods)

Feel free to comment with any questions or suggestions. I would be very happy to share any information from this project with like-minded people!!

This video has a few gaps and not everything is shown as my intention was to keep the video short and concise.
