Let us start by saying: we’re so glad that Bill Skarsgård is back as Pennywise! Well, after Tim Curry in the Nineties, no one does justice to Stephen King’s trans-dimensional clown monster on screen, than Skarsgård, who reprises his role in the brand new HBO show, IT – Welcome to Derry. Yes, Stephen King’s fictional town of Derry, in Maine, is the hunting ground of Pennywise the clown again, but this time, the storyline is set in the past, in 1962. The HBO show, created by Andy Muschietti, serves as a prequel to the massively popular ‘IT’ series of films, released in 2017 and 2019, both also directed by Muschietti. Now, Pennywise may be a fictional Stephen King baddie, but the idea of a clown killer targeting small town kids, was inspired by some very real-life happenings. And that’s what we are going to talk about in this video.
