In the Eridu temple, the Abzu or Engur was built to facilitate its use, and from which Enki-Ea entered the Earth. To what end would he use it? When the Euphrates was nearby and abundantly fresh, fresh water was not needed. How would he use this "Abzu" if it were also the doorway to his "land"? Can you guess how it worked and where exactly his "land" is?

It is even stranger, the biblical texts describe the Abyss (Abzu) as being "locked" and "opened" with a key. If this Abyss were a literal body of water, how would one unlock and lock it? Does it all mean there is an unseen spiritual dimension with a spiritual key, not a literal one?
