I began my music career as a touring and recording musician, moved into recording, writing and producing, then facilitating songwriting workshops, adding social media training to that, to now where I'm writing online courses and coaching musicians.

In the time spent working with young musicians I've realized more and more that the ones who are serious about a career in music, need more than to be good musicians and performers. They need to be armed with the tools to grow their profile and know how to sustain their career

It used to be easy to be seen and heard as a musician but, It can very difficult to get gigs compared to when I began my career and there's nowhere near the amount of live music venues and there's way to many musicians competing for the available gigs.

So how do you get seen and heard by other musicians, agents,  management, recording and publishing companies or to build your fan base if you're not getting airplay?

You know, What's the point of spending all day writing and rehearsing if no one's gonna hear you?

So after many years of working in the area of online marketing, I can tell you that Content is KING and The Focus of the Music Media Tribe workshops is on creating lots of content.

This includes songwriting so there is a constant supply of new songs to choose from which in turn helps bands to develop their unique sound.

But Content also includes video, photos and written content for your social media profiles, YouTube channels and websites.

Now the missing ingredient for most groups who may already have some or all of these in place is a Strategic plan.

Strategy is everything when it comes to building your online fan base for your group or band and to also make sure you, as the individual musician, you develop an online profile that will keep growing and developing long after the band or bands have gone
