John Lennon (1940–1980) was a British singer, songwriter, and peace activist, best known as a founding member of The Beatles. Alongside Paul McCartney, he co-wrote many of the band’s greatest hits, revolutionizing popular music. After The Beatles, Lennon pursued a solo career with songs like “Imagine,” promoting peace and love. His outspoken activism and creative spirit made him a global icon. He was died in New York City in 1980.
