There’s a theory that DOORS and Rainbow Friends are really the same experiment, just running in two different realities. Both trap you in broken attractions—a cursed Hotel and a failing theme park—where fuses, power cuts, and hidden machinery decide when monsters wake up or stay asleep.

In this version, the Hotel and The Rooms are a kind of dimensional hub, crafted by the three “Architects” like Guiding Light and Curious Light, who move spirits through doors and subfloors but never fully bring them back to life. Odd World is treated as one of the connected facilities using similar tech: Red stands in the “scientist” role, forcing real people into mascot bodies instead of letting their souls fade, turning them into Rainbow Friends the way the Hotel turns them into entities.

Failed or unstable beings, the theory says, get “disposed of” through rifts—those become the one‑off, strange entities you meet in DOORS—while Red keeps his successes, perfecting permanent possession behind the scenes of the Rainbow Friends facility. In that sense, the Hotel is the interdimensional lobby, Odd World is one of its floors, and every time you restore power, place fuses, or reboot a machine in either game, you’re helping the same system restart across two realities, keeping one corporation’s nightmares alive a little longer.
