1. First I like some landscape that I'll create and buy a canvas corresponding to the size of the desired picture.

2. Second I always draw with a pencil the elements of the painting.
3. Then I start applying the necessary paints as a base. I watch when possible and apply the paints all over the space.

4. In each oil painting there is a technological time of drying of paints. (Oil paints are the best in the art world and have many advantages, but this is the only drawback). It usually lasts a few days. It depends on where the picture dries. It is very important if the whether is it ventilated, warm, cold or humid. A picture dries the fastest in a ventilated and warm room. It also depends on what layer of paints is laid as a base.

5. After my so-called first, "rough" base dries, the real work begins with painting of all - painting the mountain, the lake, the reflection in the water, the autumn trees and others.

6. Then I finish and smooth out the last details in the painting. Very often the essence and beauty of everything is hidden in small details. 🙂
7. Finally, I put my signature and the year of creation of the painting in the lower left or right corner. I aim to be seen, but not intrusive.
8. I let it dry and smell again in a warm and ventilated place. (Oil paints have a strong smell - something like a secondary, last drawback).

9. After the painting becomes completely dry (one or two weeks), I apply a special protective varnish for oil painting, which gives a pleasant satin or glossy effect. It protects the painting from the effects of light and moisture. Also protect fading of colours and dust for years.

10. The last stage of making an original artwork is drying for the third and last time. When the painting is completely dry, it stops sticking and smells, because varnishes and sprays are not water-based and again have a specific smell.In summary, I can say an oil painting process (drawing, painting, drying, sealing it with varnish) can take several weeks or a month before it is ready to go to its new owner. It is a lot of work, but also a great joy and satisfaction for me to see myself recreating a small part of the Divine nature on a canvas, which will be a beautiful home decorating and will create an occasion for smiles for years to come.I hope you found it interesting and learned something new.
