Medieval Madness (pinball) - 370mil (personal best)

My personal best score (so far) on Medieval Madness (a classic pinball machine by Williams in 1997).

[Note - I tried playing this in pinball FX, but the gameplay was incredibly 'toned down' from the authentic experience. Not to mention the lock shot was stupidly easy, kinda ruining the whole 'flow' of the table - I'd encourage any medieval madness fans or interested parties to seek out a VPX 'medieval madness' experience rather than settling on the pinball FX/zen or other 'digital pinball' versions.]

VPX emulation difficulty: 80. Factory settings (no more than 4 extra balls throughout a playthrough, so 7 balls total).

I love this game, because of how it encourages the player to make all kinds of different shots. Rather than just having one or two really, really good targets to go for. Medieval Madness pretty much requires the player to get lots of different shots, and even sometimes asks that players avoid certain targets while aiming for others.

That, and the game's progression (defeating different lords, completing side-quests then visiting Merlin to reward those quests, and ultimately entering successive game modes requiring skill showcases, culminating with a 'Battle for the Kingdom'; after beating all the enemy castles) give it great variety and strategy. Add to that a big emphasis on "slap saves", secondary resources (Merlin's mana, 'fire'power to save the children, troll bombs and their many uses etc) make it my favourite pinball game that I've played so far.

This video was my best run as of now, where I actually managed to complete 'battle for the kingdom'; for the first time!

(But expect to see more classic shoot-em-ups than pinball)
