Mill View - Sustainable House Day 2024

A modest and enduring yet beautiful house in design that delivered warmth was the priority for this architect-owner, and all at a reasonable construction cost. The construction used Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs) which provided an airtight and continuously insulated external shell, and the internal wall finish. A Heat Recovery Ventilation system (HRV) provides continuous fresh filtered air while exhausting the stale moist air to provide a healthy indoor environment, and also mitigate structural damage caused by condensation and mould.
