Making a Cardinal Plushie out of Fuzzy Socks | DIY Tutorial

Описание к видео Making a Cardinal Plushie out of Fuzzy Socks | DIY Tutorial

Hey everyone! Today I'm going to be showing you how to make a cardinal plushie out of fuzzy socks. This would make a great gift for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts, plus it's really easy to make!

This is part of my Fuzzy Sock Bird Plush series, so if you haven't seen the other videos yet, you can check them out here:
   • Fuzzy Sock Bird Plushies

This plushie is really easy to make and would be a great beginner project, however if you're an absolute beginner I recommend checking out my guide to making sock plushies for extra tips and tricks:    • The Ultimate Guide to Making Fuzzy So...

This pattern has similar elements to my basic bird pattern:    • Fuzzy Sock Bird Plush Tutorial | Cute...

As promised, here's the materials list:
-Everything below the heel of a red fuzzy sock
-A small scrap of black fuzzy sock
-Something to mark the fabric with, like a Sharpie marker

-Needle and thread
-Fabric scissors
-Toy stuffing
-Red needle felting wool in a similar shade to the fuzzy sock
-Needle felting needles
-Needle felting mat
-Something for the eyes (superglue and flat-backed eyes, beads, embroidery thread knots, etc.)

Substitutions:

Instead of toy stuffing, you can use anything that's soft and fluffy. For example, fuzzy sock scraps or yarn scraps would work perfectly. You can also use needle felting wool, dryer lint, or cotton balls.

If you don't know how to needle felt, you can opt to make the beak out of polymer clay, leaving a hole in it to sew it on, kind of like a homemade bead. You can also sew on a piece of craft foam instead. Have fun getting creative and adapting it into your own area of expertise!

As stated above, you can glue on eyes like I did in the video, or you can also sew on beads or make knots with embroidery thread.

The wings are kind of finicky to make, so you can needle felt and sew them on instead. Polymer clay may be too heavy to make them out of, but you can try it out. If it doesn't work, you can also use a lighter clay like paper clay. Crocheting them with a fine yarn could be cute too.

Thanks so much for watching (and being dedicated enough to check the description box)! If you haven't already, feel free to subscribe for more fuzzy sock plushies, crochet tutorials, and any other crafts I feel like doing. See you next time! Bye!
