Abhay Chawla returns to his family after serving a two year sentence for killing a person in a road accident. He finds that his mother Arati and brother Rohan have moved out of their old flat and closed all contacts with him. His friends too have parted ways with him after learning about his conviction. To seek penance he goes to apologise to the victim's family, but is turned away by his son and daughter-in-law. He later meets the daughter of the victim, Sonal, a patient of cerebral palsy. Abhay takes a liking for Sonal and they soon become friends. Abhay takes Sonal out on a date on her birthday and the two have fun. However, when Ajay comes home to drop Sonal, they lose control and make love. Sonal and Abhay get caught on the bed while making love by her sister-in-law and she accuses Abhay of raping Sonal.
