India has entered a new era in space innovation — the PixxelSpace-led consortium, including Piersight Space, Satsure Analytics, and Dhruva Space, has won the IN-SPACe proposal to build India’s first fully indigenous commercial Earth Observation Satellite System (EOSS) under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

This ₹1,200-crore “zero-cost bid” marks a major shift from government-driven missions to a market-driven space ecosystem, where private companies will design, build, and operate advanced EO satellites equipped with multispectral, hyperspectral, and SAR sensors.

The system will generate high-quality geospatial intelligence for climate change monitoring, disaster management, agriculture, and national security, boosting India’s self-reliance and leadership in the global space economy.
