The Baltany S6047 draws its design inspiration from the A-7 1935.
The first A-7 model was introduced in 2012, and the latest Longines A-7 Avigation Watch 1935 is modeled after the chronographs made for the U.S. Army Air Corps in the mid-1930s. Its distinctive tilted dial and single-pusher chronograph are both unique and eye-catching.
The Baltany S6047 utilizes the Miyota 9122 automatic movement. Ingeniously, it replaces the chronograph sub-dials of the A-7 with the day and month sub-dials of the 9122 movement, thus, the S6047 is not a chronograph. Instead, it is an automatic watch with a pilot-style aesthetic featuring a complete calendar function.
The tilted dial was originally designed so that pilots could read the watch without releasing the control stick (similar to a steering wheel in an airplane). To faithfully replicate the single-button look of the original, Baltany employs a proprietary mechanism that converts the Miyota 9122’s dual pusher functionality into a single pusher operation.
