A new cumulative mega-update for Windows 10 version 1903 - July 2019!

Описание к видео A new cumulative mega-update for Windows 10 version 1903 - July 2019!

Windows 10 build 18362.267 could be the next cumulative update for Windows 10, version 1903. The update is currently rolling out to Insiders in Release Preview ring and it comes with possible bug fixes and performance improvements. However, there's only one single change that may affect old Microsoft Edge users - if the new Chromium-based Edge is installed, the old one will be removed (hidden).

UPDATE 07/27:
● Since this month's Patch Tuesday, Microsoft has released cumulative updates for every supported version of Windows 10 except for the newest one, version 1903. That changes today, as the company released a cumulative update for version 1903. The second July 2019 cumulative update for Windows 10 version 1903 (KB4505903) is now rolling out with a long list of improvements and fixes, as well as some small Windows changes. If this is similar to the update that was being tested in the Release Preview ring, then it will also hide old Edge if you have Edge Chromium installed. It’s worth noting that old Edge is still part of the OS and you can launch it from Windows run dialog or pinned taskbar icon.

SOME 20H1 FEATURES ARE SHOWING UP IN THE MAY 2019 UPDATE
● A month ago, in Build 18912, Microsoft streamlined the Windows Ink Workspace by introducing improvements, based on customer feedback.

You’ll now find a smaller Workplace, which directly links to the Microsoft Whiteboard app; so as to allow ideation and collaboration.

The improved Snip and Sketch app mean that you can quickly capture your screen in the Windows Ink Workplace, and then animate it in the app.

As a 20H1 feature, we only expected this to debut sometime next year. However, Leo has discovered that if you install the latest cumulative update in the Release Preview ring, the Windows Ink Workspace improvements will also become available in build 18362.263, which is a 19H1 build.

It could be that Microsoft only tests these features in the May 2019 Update, and Microsoft has no intention of delivering it to end-users. Alternatively, Microsoft may be planning to backport these features to their older OS.

At this stage, there’s no way of knowing; but it is, however, interesting to see Microsoft delivering features by CUs -which are normally designed for bug fixes. Given that Windows 10 19H2 will be delivered by cumulative updates, this is evidence that the role of these monthly updates may be changing.

Windows 10 KB4505903 is an optional update and it won’t install on your PC unless you explicitly click on ‘Download and install’ button.
