US stock market indexes trimmed some intraday gains and closed positive on Monday. Dow Jones and S&P 500 index closed at a fresh record high, as big corporates mostly traded higher ahead of the quarterly earnings and a rally in tech and chip-related stocks continued. Investors are now looking ahead for crucial economic data including the GDP growth rate for the fourth quarter and the PCE price index later this week. The key US stock market indexes, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) and S&P 500 index closed higher by 0.36% and 0.22% respectively, while the Nasdaq Composite Index added 0.32% on Monday.

Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading in the green on Tuesday, tracking gains from Wall Street overnight. Japan’s Nikkei is trading higher by 0.54% as investors are waiting for the Bank of Japan’s (BoJ) interest rate decision later in the day. BoJ is likely to keep the interest rates unchanged and no shift in its stance on its negative interest rate policy in this meeting.

Australia’s S&P ASX 200 is up 0.36% heading for a third consecutive gains. South Korea’s Kospi index is up 0.41%. The Shanghai index is trading lower by 0.80% while Hang Seng is trading higher by 0.54%. The Strait Times and Taiwan are also trading in the green territory at 7.20 am IST.

The indication from global markets and Gift Nifty both are positive. Indian stock market indexes are likely to open a gap-up today and trade positively.
