Track 2 from their eighth album “Boogie Motel” released in 1979 copyright Bearsville Records. It was recorded at the band’s own studio “The Boogie Hotel” located in the small resort town of Port Jefferson, New York, on the north shore of Long Island. The album received poor reviews and was criticized for its more commercial, radio-friendly sound compared to their previous releases. Critics felt that the new production values went against the band’s strength as a fierce, energetic, blues-based boogie-rock band. The majority of the songs were written by Dave Peverett. The ballad “Third Time Lucky (First Time I Was a Fool)” was a minor hit. Recorded from the remastered 2016 CD. Written by Dave Peverett and produced by Foghat & Dave Outeda.
