How to shell swap a Sony PSP (PSP 1000 reshell guide)

Hello everyone!

Welcome to another retro project video, where today I bring to you a project I have been putting off for a long time. I have heard nothing but negative things about doing a PSP shell swap. The main reason people don't recommend this is because of the quality of most of the aftermarket shells for sale on the internet are made with terrible quality. I'm not saying they are all bad, but from what I've read, the good shells are few and far between. This is no reason to be discouraged! I only had to make a couple modifications to get the shell to work properly. There is something to be said about doing this mod yourself, if you are a perfectionist, this probably isn't the mod for you. It will not be perfect. There will be some discrepancies with the shell that you may not be able to fix. With that being said, it is a fun project if you have a day free. I got this entire mod complete in just a couple hours. It's not perfect, but I'm happy with the results. Just a note: If you do this mod yourself, keep all the buttons from your original PSP. I ended up swapping back all the black buttons as the clear ones that came with the shell look cool, they barely worked. So If you don't mind having black buttons on your clear shell, I would totally recommend this mod!
