NASCAR DRIVERS VERSUS F1 DRIVERS! The History of the Race of Champions

The Race of Champions is a great event, but it seems in the last few years it's dropped off quite a bit. It would probably draw a bigger crowd if more current F1 drivers went there, if only to just have some fun.

But that's what it is. It's a bit of fun- But the copium on show when Michael Schumacher was beaten by a NASCAR driver was entertaining from both sides. At the same time, it's nice to see drivers who have never or don't really race each other, race each other.

With drivers under contracts and sponsors and calendar congestion; as well as the Concord Agreement and cost cutting, non-championship races for fun are long gone. But the Race of Champions could become a massive thing at the end of every year if they made a few changes to the format, or got the sport's biggest stars all under one roof.
