Welcome to king Christian IV's unrivalled Renaissance castle from the early decades of the 17th century. The castle is a magnificent experience in itself, furthermore it houses The Museum of National History, founded by brewer J. C. Jacobsen in 1878. Jacobsen was the founder of Danish brewery Carlsberg. Respecting the wish of its founder, the museum is open 365 days a year, offering visitors the chance to enjoy the "Nordic Versailles" or to take a stroll through Danish history. The Museum of National History is a part of the Carlsberg Foundation.
