Every sneakerhead dreams of owning an OG Jordan 1 from 1985, us included. After countless hours and days searching for the perfect pair Vick finally found an OG Jordan 1 worth restoring…with a catch of course.

This isn’t your typical Air Jordan 1. Vick is going to be restoring the Sky Jordan 1. The what? Yep, a Sky Jordan 1. This pair is from 1985 just like the OG Air Jordan 1 but it’s considered the youth model.

When compared to Vick’s OG Bred Air Jordan 1s and OG Royal Jordan 1s, the small differences are more noticeable.

There are a few key differences between an OG Air Jordan 1 and the Sky Jordan 1, namely the logo on the tongue tag, the Wings logo, and the stitching on the back portion of the collar. Other than that, you’re looking at a bonafide OG pair of Jordan 1s from back in 1985.

Despite being almost 40 years old, this pair of Sky Jordan 1s is in pretty good shape, and Vick doesn’t want to do too much to it anyways. Shoes like this are more valuable when sold as-is…collectors like the OG stuff. So instead of doing a full restoration and repaint, Vick will give this sneaker a good clean.

Vick started cleaning the sole of the Sky Jordan with Solution and the Stiff Bristle Brush but quickly realized this wouldn’t be an easy clean. A switch to the Brass Bristle Brush provided more encouraging results.

Cleaning the leather upper of the OG Jordan 1 wasn’t too bad, though. Vick used the Soft Bristle Brush to scrub it clean and then a few RESHOEVN8R Sneaker Wipes to remove any remaining stains.

The tongue still looked dingy after the initial clean with the Brushes and Solution, but Vick had a trick up his sleeve. He mixed Solution, a Laundry Pod, and a secret substance (details coming soon) with hot water and scrubbed the tongues with an ultra-fine brush.

To remove any remaining yellowing from the tongue, midsole, or leather mid panel, Vick put the shoes in the Vick 2000 indoor setup for 2 days, and they came out looking crispy white!

After cleaning up some loose threads, the shoe is ready to be laced back up with the original laces and displayed proudly!

Have you ever seen an OG Jordan 1 from ‘85 that looks this clean? Vick kept everything as OG as possible. This shoe still has the original insole, laces, paint, and sole. No midsole swaps or lace swaps are necessary!

Did you know about the Sky Jordan 1? It’s a pretty rare find. Vick paid $500 for this pair…what do you think he could sell them for now that they’re cleaned up? Let us know in the comments down below.
