Unboxing my new Zoom H4n Pro Handy Recorder purchased from the GAK (Guitar Amp Keyboard) online eBay shop.

I bought this so I can simultaneously record my electronic music jams and voice overs at the same time (for future videos).

Unfortunately things did not go exactly to plan... the Zoom H4n Pro screen appeared to have a fault, which, at first just seemed to be a glitch. Upon further inspection it turned out to be some missing vertical lines of pixels on the screen display. Because of this I've decided to return the device to get a replacement, I will update you with what happens next! GAK have sent me a returns label in the post, so it'll be a week or so before I can get a new one.

The short section of audio you can hear from the Zoom recorder is from the XY stereo mics on top. The audio frequency range was much better, however, due to it being designed as a stereo room mic, there's a lot of background audio from my room. It's not really intended to record voice overs, I'll be purchasing a lavalier mic to do that job in future. (Any tips on that please let me know! I do see a lot of people using lavalier mics from ‪@rodemic‬)
