The bands are in order from softest to heaviest. (except the honorable mentions)

-Witness for Hope   / witnessforhope  
Somehow sounding like a good kind of mainstream, this band will instantly hook you on their amazing clean vocals with lines that sound like they were written by popular punk bands and yet pull them off extremely well into a post-hardcore kind of sound.
-It Lives, It Breathes   / itlivesitbreathes  
Not only are these nice guys with a sense of humor, but their music is absolutely beautiful and if you like dubstep/djent/post-hardcore then you should love this band.
-Crown the Empire   / crowntheempire  
A band that has come very far in the last year, though I am happy for them to have actually gotten signed and they now have a very successful band with a new singer, I personally prefer their older stuff over their new mainstream songs but don't let that stop you from falling in love with all of their unique vocals and overall great songs.
-Honour Crest   / honourcrest  
A band that deserves much more than what they have gotten, if you like glitchy and heavy post-hardcore bands then they are the band for you. Great cleans, nice synths, catchy vocals, and just an awesome band altogether.
-Above This   / abovethis  
This 2 man band is constantly releasing new songs, of which are full of clever one liners, heavy breakdowns, bass drops, catchy and unique vocals, and just an overall "I-don't-give-a-fuck" attitude.
-In Dying Arms   / indyingarms  
Very original, brutal death-core vocals/breakdowns, and seriously some of the absolute best cleans I have ever heard in a hardcore band.
-Make Them Suffer   / makethemsufferau  
Gaining popularity quickly, their new album Neverbloom is just plain filled to the brim with everything. Catchy vocals, great breakdowns, piano, and just non-stop heavy/fast instrumentals.
-My Autumn   / myautumnmetal  
A Russian band that released a very unique and and heavy album chocked full of death-core awesomeness.
-Infant Annihilator   / infantannihilator  
Releasing 2 albeit immature but hilarious music videos, 2 covers, and an absolutely brutal 16 track long album it's no wonder this band came out of nowhere with almost 2 million total video views in the last 3 months. Every one of their songs have their unique and insane sound, and if you're into brutal death-core/death metal they will likely shoot to the top of your favorite bands.


HONORABLE MENTIONS:
-Breakdown of Sanity   / breakdownofsanity  
One of my favorite death-core bands of 2010 and 2011, but no 2012 albums. Though they did tour for what seemed like all year have been working on a new album/ep.
-Nova Prospekt   / novaprospektswe  
Released an amazing single but only have 1 prior album and though it was awesome it didn't really meet the standards of BEST bands in 2012 and I'm unsure if the album even came out in 2012.
-Sienna Skies   / siennaskies  
Amazing band, but not the best of this year. maybe would have been the best in 2010 or 2011.
-The Avalanche Diaries   / theavalanchediaries  
They have a pretty unique sound and have a great album that I think was released in 2012 with every almost every song being top-notch.
