Painting Water Drops in Oil - Quick Tutorial for Beginners

In this quick oil painting tutorial, I demonstrate how I paint water drops. Painting drops is fairly easy. First, you need a fine brush. I'm using a #2, but a size 0 or even 00 would've been better. Second, you want to make sure your oil paint has a nice flow, so I use Liquin Fine Detail and a bit of linseed oil mixed into the paint. Outline your basic shape, add any reflective colors you might see, paint in shadows and add any final highlights. Pay attention to the reflective colors! Drops often reflect back colors from the surface below or around it.
