Описание к видео [EP.20] 8K Resolution Image of Orion Nebula Captured by Canon EOS R5 under a Bortle 8–9 Sky

Last month, I put the Canon R7 to the test for observing the Orion Nebula, and the outcome left me pleasantly surprised [Watch the original test here:    • [EP.17] Canon EOS R7 for Astrophotography?...  ]. With its 32.5 MP APS-C sensor, I was eager to compare it to my Canon R5, boasting a 45 MP Full-Frame sensor. Delving into the pixel sizes of these cameras (4.39 µm for the R5 and 3.20 µm for the R7) led me to anticipate a higher resolution picture from the R7. I assumed the larger pixel of the R5 might have superior light-gathering capabilities, potentially yielding similar results.

In general, I was satisfied with the result from R5. However, the Canon R7 exceeded my expectations, still showcasing significantly better performance in astrophotography, particularly in background noise, resolution, and color when compared to the R5. Surprisingly, despite the R5's larger 8K image size and wider field of view, the R7's capabilities prevailed in this specific scenario.
