What exactly is a gang stalker, and do they get paid?







"Gang stalking" is a term used by individuals, known as "targeted individuals" (TIs), who hold a 

persecutory belief that they are being systematically followed, watched, and harassed by a large, coordinated group of people or organizations (such as the government or a local gang). In clinical psychology and legal contexts, these claims are generally considered to be a form of delusion, often associated with mental health disorders like paranoid schizophrenia, rather than an actual phenomenon. 

The "Gang Stalker"

Within this belief system, a "gang stalker" (or "perp") is a person whom the targeted individual believes has been recruited to participate in the harassment campaign. TIs often perceive random, everyday encounters (e.g., seeing the same type of car, a stranger staring, neighbors making noise) as deliberate and malicious acts of a coordinated conspiracy. 

Do They Get Paid?

The belief that "gang stalkers" are paid is a common element of the narrative among targeted individuals. They report various theories about how perpetrators are compensated: 

Monetary payment: Some TIs believe perpetrators receive cash, gift cards, cars, or housing as payment.

Incentives: Other alleged forms of payment include having criminal charges dropped, receiving public benefits, or simply gaining a sense of power and community.

Lack of payment/other motives: Some TIs believe the "perps" are motivated by a misguided belief that the targeted person is a deviant or a threat, or that they are being coerced into participating. 

From a clinical and legal perspective, there is no credible evidence that such widespread, organized, paid harassment networks exist. The perception of payment is part of the overall delusional framework, where individuals attempt to find a logical explanation for the seemingly random events they interpret as coordinated attacks. Law enforcement and courts typically dismiss "gang stalking" lawsuits due to a lack of evidence, often concluding the claims are irrational and likely delusional.
