The Magic of Bendora Forest // Cinematic 4K 12 Bit RAW

This cinematic short film entitled 'The Magic of Bendora Forest' was filmed with my Sigma FP and Contax Zeiss vintage lenses in 12 Bit Cinema DNG. The main advantage of shooting in this format is that it produces beautiful and realistic colour rendering. The Sigma FP also has excellent dynamic range in Cinema DNG, but it's also very challenging and time consuming to edit the DNG sequences.

I also wanted to get the full effect of shooting full frame with my Contax Zeiss vintage lenses to create images that have the look and feel of 35mm film. The lens flares I was able to produce on full frame with my Contax Zeiss 18mm F4 are absolutely unreal and unlike anything else I've seen.

My aim with this film was to capture the beauty of this place in the most creative and artistic way possible using subtle camera movements to create motion and draw your eye into the scenes.

I focused on creative camera angles, fine details and capturing the best lighting to create mood. Also, shooting into the sun to create lens flares which adds dimension and texture to the image. I also focused a lot on natural, warm and realistic colour and spent a lot of time on the colour grading in Davinci Resolve Studio 17.
