Bardstown Discovery 13 is a Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, notable for being the Discovery Series's first double-barreled release, finished in both American and Hungarian oak barrels for added depth and complexity. This limited-edition bourbon blends four distinct Kentucky Straight Bourbons aged 8 to 15 years and is bottled at 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV). Tasting notes include classic bourbon flavors of caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit, layered with rich notes of baking spice, campfire ash, clove, cinnamon, and toffee from the dual-oak treatment. 

Key Characteristics 

Double-Barreled Finish:

The primary innovation of this release is the use of both American and Hungarian oak barrels for secondary finishing.

Aged & Blended:

The whiskey is a blend of four different Kentucky Straight Bourbons, aged between 8 and 15 years, each with a unique mash bill.

Proof:

It is bottled at a robust 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV).

Limited Release:

As part of the Discovery Series, it is a special, limited-edition offering.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Expect warm oak, roasted caramel, vanilla, and toasted spice.
