GTX 1660 Super vs RX 5600 XT - 7 games tested - Which should you buy?

Today we look at the GTX 1660 Super vs the RX 5600 XT to see what graphics card comes out on top. For our tests we will be using the same test system consisting of the Ryzen 3700x processor with 16GB of RAM and 1TB NVME storage, to make the tests fair. The resolution is 1080p with all tests run using the high preset.

In our first test Shadow of the tomb raider we see that the RX 5600 XT beats the GTX 1660 Super by 12 frames per second giving the early edge to the AMD card.

In our second test Division 2 we see that the RX 5600 XT beats the GTX 1660 Super by a big margin of 20 frames per second which means it’s now 2-0 to the AMD card.

The third game test today Fortnite saw a big gap again of 13 frames per second difference, making it now 3-0 to the AMD card. Unfortunately in this current market getting hold of either card is very difficult but clearly the AMD card is looking the better option here.

The fourth game today Red Dead Redemption 2 saw a big difference again to the AMD card of 14 frames per second, that now makes it 4-0 to the AMD card and it’s clearly pulling out Infront as the superior card.

In our fifth test Call of Duty Warzone we see the AMD card again beats the Nvidia card by 19 frames per second. That now makes it a thrashing of 5-0 to the 5600 XT graphics card over the GTX 1660 Super.

In our sixth test Borderlands 3 we see the AMD card pulls slightly ahead by 8 frames per second but that makes it a clear 6-0 to the AMD card.

The Seventh game tested F1 2019 saw a massive 20 frames per second difference going to the AMD card so that makes it a 7-0 thrashing to the AMD card making this the clear winner if you can find both cards for around the same price on the used market.

Overall both cards perform great at 1080p high but clearly the rx 5600 XT is the card to buy if you can find one for sale in this strange time of course.
