Dr Joe Tucci explains why he has spent the last 25 years protecting children and that deep down within all of us there is a small child that would like to be protected and safe. The mission of the Australian Childhood Foundation is to pioneer preventative programmes and offer therapeutic services to abused children.

David Roy Green of WHEN whenworldwide.org interviews Dr Joe Tucci in Melbourne, Australia. Dr Tucci is the Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Childhood Foundation, a registered psychologist and social worker with significant experience in child protection and working therapeutically with children. He has completed a PhD in emotional abuse and has a particular interest in the impact of abuse-related trauma on brain development and the implications for practice. Dr Tucci has worked in the field of child abuse intervention and education for over 20 years and has extensive experience in the provision of consultancy, clinical supervision, program development and evaluation. Joe is a strong advocate for the rights and needs of all children, particularly children who have suffered the trauma of abuse and neglect.
