Geophysicist Ben Holtzman and musician/sound designer Jason Candler created the show using animation and data from real earthquakes. They sped up the sounds that earthquakes emit, normally at a frequency too low for humans to hear, and show how the Earth can continue to "ring" for months after large magnitude quakes. They hope that their research may lead to better safety in the future.
