Jerusalem - England's Hidden National Anthem

Описание к видео Jerusalem - England's Hidden National Anthem

England should 100% change their national anthem to be Jerusalem.

The title of the poem is actually 'And did those feet in ancient time'
As poems used to commonly be called whatever the first line of the poem is.

There have been many calls for England to change their national anthem over the years, there's a great video of the England Women's Hockey team singling Jerusalem out there and rugby league always has someone singing it at their final.

The BBC have written about the change:

People have tried petitioning parliament, but they have said it's not for them to decide:

Jerusalem, or And did those feet in ancient time
By William Blake

And did those feet in ancient time
Walk upon Englands mountains green:
And was the holy Lamb of God,
On Englands pleasant pastures seen!

And did the Countenance Divine,
Shine forth upon our clouded hills?
And was Jerusalem builded here,
Among these dark Satanic Mills?

Bring me my Bow of burning gold:
Bring me my arrows of desire:
Bring me my Spear: O clouds unfold!
Bring me my Chariot of fire!

I will not cease from Mental Fight,
Nor shall my sword sleep in my hand:
Till we have built Jerusalem,
In Englands green & pleasant Land.
