Understanding NVMe Namespaces

In this session we will describe the details of NVMe namespaces, what they are and what they do. We will show how they are technologically very different from conventional LUNs and partitions (controller or operating system based). We’ll describe two acceleration modes namespaces enable (dedicated and shared) as well as show an example of their use in tiered storage.
