We have many methods we use to test and verify gold bars that come in over the counter.


First see me check the weight. Second see me check them with a magnet. If the magnet has no effect or too strong of an effect, the bars are counterfeit. Next I use the XRF precious metals analyzer made by Niton / Thermo Fischer Scientific. Then I drill the 10 oz bar and test the insides on the XRF. Stay until the end for the quiz and see if you get an A for the day.
