This is the story of our offshore passage from Neah Bay, Wa to San Francisco, Ca. Sailing down this section of the U.S. coast for many global circumnavigators is the roughest passage of their entire voyage. We knew it was not to be taken lightly, and had been preparing ourselves, and Spy for this for many years, but this was still our first multi-day passage! It took 9 days, including two and a half days caught in a gale off Mendocino Point.
