গত তিরিশ বছর নানা আসর ও অনুষ্ঠানের মধ্য দিয়ে বেঙ্গল ফাউন্ডেশন গানের ডালি পৌঁছে দিয়েছে শ্রোতার কাছে। ২০২০ সালে হঠাৎ করোনা-মহামারিতে সব থমকে যায়। এ সময়ে শোক, বিচ্ছিন্নতা ও অবসাদে নিমজ্জিত আমাদের আশ্রয় হয়ে ওঠে কবিতা-সাহিত্য-শিল্প-সংগীত। সরাসরি বসে গান শোনার অন্তরঙ্গ অনুভূতি পুনর্সঞ্চার করার প্রয়াসে বেঙ্গল ফাউন্ডেশন নিবেদিত ‘প্রাণের খেলা’র ৫৯তম পর্ব প্রচারিত হচ্ছে ডিজিটাল প্ল্যাটফর্মে।

প্রিয় শিল্পী মিতা হক (১৯৬২-২০২১) সম্প্রতি আমাদের ছেড়ে চলে গেছেন। তাঁর অকাল প্রয়াণে আমরা গভীরভাবে ব্যথিত। তিনি জীবনে ধারণ করেছিলেন রবীন্দ্রনাথের দর্শন, গানে সমর্পিত ছিল তাঁর জীবন। সেমন্তী মঞ্জরী ও বুলবুল ইসলামের স্বকীয় রবীন্দ্র-গায়নশৈলীতে প্রোজ্জ্বল ‘প্রাণের খেলা’র এ-আসরের যত গান, যত কথা মিতা হককে স্মরণ করে।

After about 30 years of bringing music to the people and sharing the excitement of great concerts with audiences, we had to pause in 2020. It was a time when the arts had become more important than ever, more relevant than ever. Music gave that emotional rejuvenation we so badly needed, amidst the loss and pain and uncertainty of the pandemic. We had to find new ways to deliver to the community, while knowing that the digital experience was markedly different from the spontaneous connections spawned in in-person concerts.

We lost a dear friend in the untimely passing of the acclaimed Bangladeshi singer Mita Huq. We invited two of Mita’s dear friends - Bulbul Isam and Shemonty Monjari - to record a beautiful session of Rabindranath Tagore’s timeless songs for Praner Khela. The evening brought back so many memories of Mita’s sparkling persona! The 59th episode of Praner Khela brought to you by Bengal Foundation, is dedicated to the loving memory of Mita Huq (1962 - 2021).
