During a fireside chat at SmartCon, Sergey Nazarov, Co-founder of Chainlink, and Allen Day, Developer Advocate at Google, spoke about bringing Google Cloud's NOAA data from 9000+ weather stations on-chain through Chainlink's decentralized oracle network. They discussed how decentralized applications could use this weather data and other Google Cloud datasets to build hybrid smart contract applications for use cases such as parametric insurance. From multi-language news aggregators to forex and weather data, bringing Google Cloud's datasets to blockchains with Chainlink will significantly expand the capabilities of decentralized applications and bring about a new wave of hybrid blockchain/cloud innovation.
