Congratulations to Troup High's Garrison Edwards, the Recruit Georgia player of the week. Garrison was one of the nominees for the award, and he won the fan voting with 37 percent of the vote. Garrison had a remarkable performance in Saturday's 49-35 home win over Mary Persons that gave Troup (4-0 overall) a 2-0 Region 2-AAA record. Garrison accounted for six of Troup's seven touchdowns (Javarris Warner had a long touchdown run) while helping the team score at least 42 points for a fourth straight game. Against a Mary Persons defense that had been stingy, Garrison was unstoppable. The senior completed 12-of-17 passes for 134 yards with three touchdowns (two to Davis Moncus and one to Trey Dean). Garrison also ran for 176 yards on 16 carries (an average of 11 yards per attempt) with three touchdowns. Troup's offense has been unstoppable this season, and Garrison is a big reason why, although he also surrounded by play-makers and offensive coordinator Connor McNamee is doing an awesome job.
